  • conducts Humanist ceremonies for namings, weddings, civil unions and funerals
  • organises an Annual Seminar in conjunction with the AGM
  • holds monthly discussion sessions from February to November
  • periodically organises national and international speakers on Humanist philosophy, other belief systems, current political and social issues
  • organises an annual Darwin Day celebration
  • celebrates Winter Solstice
  • organises donations and awards
  • provides scholarships and other support to the SOCH Humanist School in Kathmandu, Nepal
  • maintains a library of Humanist books and journals (based in Wellington)
  • maintains contact with national bodies with similar interests
  • is a member of the International Humanist Ethical Union (IHEU)
  • is an affiliated member of the United Nations Association of NZ
